So untrue, yet true. The art world has long had a reputation for being run by what some would call “stuck up snobs.” While I’m sure there are a few, NOT TRUE with respect to some of the most prominent collectors. I’ve been rubbing shoulders in recent weeks with Art World’s Royalty, movers and shakers. And I’ve found them to be passionate about art in ALL of it’s manifestations, including Street Art. And supportive and generous as well.
But Street Artists, there’s a group that in general wherever they go are so STUCK UP. And thanks to Tony Goldman’s STUCK UP wall, now there is a place for all of them to hang out together. Art Basel is a grand event for Art, and now there is finally a place for those who take pride in being Stuck Up!
At the Sagamore hotel, aka The Art Hotel in Miami Beach there is amazing art on the walls, curated by Christine “Cricket” Taplin, and there is amazing art in the stairwells too. Don’t take my word for it, check it out.
Hmmm. Rumor has it that a very special “Cricket” and a certain New York City Street Artist were seen chatting about the beautiful white walls of the Sagamore getting a little love from certain “SOMEBODY.” Hmmm Art Basel is going to be Very, Very Interesting. – TMNK
Portugal Is in love with street art. And what an honor that a “nobody” like me has caught their eye. It’s raining outside. And for some sorrow and pain has caused it to rain inside as well. Someone needs to know this morning, this too shall pass. And In the future, there will be brighter days. That someone is me, and perhaps it’s you too. Brighter Days more than a paintng, a reminder to reach for the joy within and around you.
