Creating Art: Under The Influence

under-the-influence1

Hip-Hop music has not only influenced popular culture, it has also been a source of inspiration for contemporary art in general, and especially street art or what some would call “Urban” art. Whatever you call it, or however you want to describe it, the artists in this show are making great art and history, UNDER THE INFLUENCE. – TMNK

Destroy and Rebuild’s AVONE, and his work is about to blast off at an exhibit entitled Idle Construction at Boston’s Lot F

Gallery. He’s also bringing his unique creative voice to a collaborative show with Australian artist MaryAnne Oliver, entitled BQE. Both shows open this week.

Both shows, are just a slice of the pie of what my boyeee has been up to. The New York Street Art Scene is in for a rude awakening.  - TMNK

We recently learned that JESUS SAVES, the New York artists that uses the street as his canvas was experiencing some legal difficulties.

AVONE of Destroy Rebuild NYC, had the idea to  organizie a grassroots campaign/fundraiser by artists to help with his legal fees.

Each of the artists below have agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds of their auction toward JESUS SAVES legal expense. Thus Far artists Col, Matt Siren, TMNK and AVONE  have donated original paintings in support of their friend.

We hope you will too. Please check out the art below being auctioned.

By now it’s no secret to many of you who know. I’ve been having an affair. Yes, It’s true I’m IN LOVE with the streets of NEW YORK. And apparently I’m not the only one.

BROOKLYN, NY-BrooklynStreetArt.com and AlphaBeta are thrilled to be hosting a timely and sexy show of brand new art by 42 street artists who are redefining our ideas of street art. Working around themes of “Love, Sex, and the Street”, well-known street artists like Aiko, Jef Aerosol, (and a so-called NOBODY) dig deep for fresh takes on gritty street ardor alongside relative whipper-snappers like Cake and Poster Boy.
In addition to a salon-style show, the opening party will feature live art collaborations and installation.

And according to New York Magazine its a Best Bet! WOW!
