Lead don’t follow is the expression. And I take great pride in doing just that. So, next month (August 28th) I’ll be premiering my new URBAN DERIVATIVE PAINTINGS in a solo exhibition at Din Ramme og Galleri Galleberg. But, in the meantime I couldn’t help but give a taste via some works on paper to my peeps, the loyal somebodys that hold me down, Shows or no shows.
And they’re getting snatched up by savvy collectors here and abroad, cool. I’ll explain more about what “Urban Derivative” means after the opening in Oslo, Norway. Until then, I hope you’ll continue to enjoy and feast upon these new works.

SOLD
Thanks.

It’s a great feeling to work with people who are passionate about their love of art in general, and specifically the work you as an artist create. Let’s toast, as the kid, (okay former kid,) from the hood is about to bring urban contemporary street art from NYC to Norway. And this is the beautiful/smart lady behind the scenes making ish happen (during her recent studio visit.)
BTW – I’ve been informed that several of the pieces have already been sold. Cool, I’ll drink to that too!
Yo, Norway! Nobody LOVES you!
TMNK
Thanks.

So, the curator for the exhibit in Norway arrives this week. An so I’ve been focusing on putting a body of work together that will lead to an ongoing conversations/dialogue. Norway is the motherland of Edvard Munch, the artist famous for painting The Scream. (Bro, I feel your Pain). The Scream, is part of a series The Frieze of Life, in which Munch explored the themes of life, love, fear, death, and melancholia. We are kindred spirits.
I’m honored to have been extended and invitation to show my work in the home of this legendary great artist.

A lot of hard work, prayer, and people believing me has lead to a very special showing of my art at Din Ramme og Galleri Galleberg in Norway. I am extremely grateful for a very special curator who discovered and supported my work and is responsible for making this dream a reality. The show will consist of 40+ paintings sculptures, and will debut for the first time my large scale URBAN DERIVATIVES.
More Details to come, for now its back to work! – TMNK

It appears that some of my work is turning up in distant lands, in the hands, homes, and hearts of some new collectors. (wink) Thanks for hearing my voice. Thanks for preserving the message of this weary, lonely artist. -TMNK

With bold strokes i create
whatever i imagine.
Today, i imagined you unexpectedly
receiving this gift from a complete stranger,
a “nobody.”
i imagined it bringing a small ray of sunshine
into yet another hectic and exhausting day.
i imagined it, me, making you smile.
Well, that smile for however long it radiates upon your face is my newest masterpiece.
